32 golfers and 4 CGA Staff returned yesterday from a memorable trip to Penina Golf Resort in Portugal. The mixed abilty of the golfers from clubs across north Essex including Frinton, Colne Valley, Harwich and Clacton made for an enjoyable week. CGA Professional Sarah Hawes attended her first ever trip and looked after the new Get into Golf Golfers from Frinton. As new golfers its quite daunting to sign up for a golf holiday abroad but with Sarah and CGA Professional Steve we believe they all came away looking forward to next year already! With Steve not being able to play due to a broken wrist sustained playing football, Steve coached during the week and was on hand on the course to encourage and give advice. Tom Hide and wife Claire created another seamless trip with nothing but compliments for their organisation and smooth running of the week. Scott Rusbridge was also part of the week, being available on the range in the mornings for lessons and then out on the course to enjoy playing with everyone during the day.
Each day the golf was followed by food and drinks in the really good restaurants in Alvor. This was our 8th year of visiting to Penina which offer us a very warm welcome every year. In just under 2 weeks we host our 4th trip of the winter to Majorca where I am sure more good times will be had.
